Browser problems affecting e-resources

Occasionally browser issues affect how resources/websites perform. Recently ClinicalKey was affected and would not work in Internet Explorer or Google Chrome. The problem has now been resolved but it is useful to be aware of the different browser options.

Hospital PCs would normally default to Internet Explorer – Google Chrome may be available but Firefox is less standard so is unlikely to be present.

Take a look at your desk top for Icons or click Start and all programmes to see if Google Chome is listed as an icon.

If you have an alternative browser available, type in the website to use. There will not be any difference in web screen appearance but performance may alter and the loading of PDFs will be different. Contact the library for more advice!

Other resources and websites may also work more effectively within other browsers – this can include viewing email attachments in personal email accounts where Google Chrome can be better than Internet Explorer.
